Interesting post on B**h board showing all prem squads, with EQP in bold and academy in italics. Not sure if EQP 100% accurate (we're just over 50%)

B**h offy

I'm a little surprised that Glaws was deemed to be so high (90odd%) given their recruitment drive in South Africa at present!

Latta & Protheroe are EQP, I believe.
Thomas, Pincus & Haining I don’t know about but would suspect they are on residency if nothing else.

Rather surprising we are so low. If there is any consolation, Worcester are in a worse position.

Which just reformated my post from rugbyrebels.

I make EQP is about 65% including the senior academy (all EQP), might be a little higher as I'm not sure about Malton and Stirzaker's status.

Stirzaker was listed as EQP by Sarries

Jambo pointed a few outnIndidnt know where EQP; Latta, Pincus, Haining, Malton, Thomas and Stirzaker all EQP too. No senior caps and residency over 3 years.

I think I read somewhere on this board that Bris thought Stirzaker was EQP when they signed him but then discovered he wasn't. On Wiki I found 2 contradictory statements:

"Stirzaker is eligible to represent three countries internationally. Australia, England, and South Africa."

"Stirzaker was selected and played for Australia XV (Wallabies) that played the French Barbarians in late 2016 losing 19–11 in Bordeaux"

The latter I assume precludes him from EQP status?

I'd be amazed if that Aussie xv counted as their qualifying team to therefore discount him as a EQP. I could of course be wrong!

I also remember the ‘turns out he’s not EQP’ discussion. However, I would hope that should the club have discovered this was the case (if they had indeed believed he was when he wasn't) they’d surely have looked to recruit another Scrum Half as wouldn’t this make him a ‘foreign’ player? We’d then be losing out from one of our other galaticos as Stirzaker is going to be playing the majority of matches given the inexperience at this level of his understudies....
I do hope we’ve not dropped another ball (I’m sure either Piatua jnr and Morahan will love playing in the A league.....)

Piutau doesn't count anyway as is Tongan decent. Luatua and Afoa are Samoan so again don't count. Only Morahan as a foreign player so even if Stirzaker isn't EQP he would be the 2nd allowed foreign player.

Doesn't make our Samoans EQPs of course

Yeah of course but means they can all go on the pitch at the same time which is essential at present.

Thanks for that - Wasn’t sure about Charles P (officially) - So our definite foreign players are Morahan (first choice) and Smith (likely to be match day squad at least?) with question marks over Stirzacker (first choice)? Smith aside (when Heenan and Thomas are fit) the other 2 need to be playing regularly - not sure the understudies (Pincus/Daniels unproven and Uren/Randall/Cullen very raw) are in the same boat. Happy to be proved wrong in that regard and feel these could be areas to look at for mid-season recruiting as any more ‘foreigners’ (sorry if this sounds Alf Garnett-ish) May mean we can’t play our strongest side and yet to be convinced about the depth of our player pool (given how lots are unproven at this level.

Thanks for the feedback y'all I really would like to get it as accurate as reasonably possible (there will always be some arguments about a player's best position, or the precise pecking order) - for yourselves, Jim's given me a fair bit of help.
For those who don't want to sully yourselves by heading to the Bath board; here's what I've got for you guys currently; I will keep editting it, and hopefully get a final, reasonably accurate picture just ahead of the new season (some clubs are still signing, Sarries and Sale haven't finalised their academy intakes; I'm still waiting on feedback from other clubs etc; and of course, the inevitable human error):

WT - thanks for a great chart. Must have taken a lot of work.

It looks pretty accurate to me now. but Will leave it to those better informed to provide any updates.

Smith doesn't count as foreign either I think. He's of Tongan decent and his brother played for Tonga in league.

As far as I can make out, the Australia XV that played the French Barbarians in late 2016 losing 19–11 in Bordeaux, whould not count as the pre-designated team as according to World rugby site neither team were their designated team, in 2016 Australian Barbarians (Australia 'A') were the Aussie team, and France U20.

I think both teams have be recognised for the match to lose EQP as per 8.3a below. However if this was part of a recognised International tour by The official Australian team, then I think it could fall under 8.3b which seems to imply any match on tour counts, then he would not be EQP. No wonder there is so much confusion.

Interestingly Andrew Kellaway, who has joined Saints this season, was also in this Wallabies team (as was Henry Vanderglas, late of this parish). Some discussion on the Saints board about his possible eligibility for Scotland.

Wallabies v French Barbarian 2016

The Wallaby XV has gone down to the French Barbarians 19-11, after a gripping contest on Thursday night at the Stade Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux.

The visitors were the first to cross the line but the French side weren’t to be denied in front of what was a parochial home crowd.
