Do we have a pre match meeting pub?
The one on the corner, diagonally across from the Merrick hotel I think we used in 2005.
Plenty to choose from, but cannot remember the names of any of them!!! And been back a couple of times since then.

Connacht supporters pub seems to be Murity Rabbitts. Our fav last time we visited was O'Connells which is about 200m round the corner on Eyre Sq so we'll definitely be paying them a visit. Both are about 10 mins walk from the ground

I think you mean Garveys which doesn't look particularly great

Towards the other end of the (small) town on the main drag to the waterfront we liked Taaffes and Tig Coilli (good traditional music in both) The Quays and The Kings Head. Good looking whiskey pub called Garavans as well. Loads and loads to choose from

I think I've seen a recent post/tweet on another platform somewhere indicating/suggesting O'Connels as the place to meet pre-match.
Was it Angie? I can't find it now.

Garvey’s (founded in 1861, a veritable home from home!) was friendly last time we went to Galway but may have had a makeover since then as room prices have jumped a fair bit.

For live music we frequented the most excellent Tig Coili.

O’Connells for us then. We arrive in Galway at 1145 having journeyed for 2h 30 from Dublin via coach, almost certainly hungover from the previous night in Dublin City !!!

Four of us on the Ryanair Manc- Dublin flight tomorrow at 12. Any others on here on that flight??

Hi all.

Looking forward to this weekend as this is my first away match and trip to Ireland. Will certainly be frequenting a few establishments.

Anyone flying into Shannon later on?

Shock horror!

Garveys Bar (founded in 1861) is full of builders gear and looks like it is going through a refurbishment - I wonder if the Powers That Be will postpone the game until they repoen?
