The injuries yes but that team should play better than that tonight and the other games this season.

We have seen that much poor play in the last season plus, that our expectations have been dimmed.

There was no control on any part of tonight's game. Scottish looked like the home team. Dominating possession. We have no out. Kicking aimlessly and inviting them straight back on to us. Our offence is flat as a pancake. Truck it up rubbish. When did you last see us score a try like the LS last effort? Just a nice easy training ground move.

Donít think we will see that line up again when league fixtures resume, definite bare bones CS already indicated 2 kiwis off the plane onto pitch next week

Thraves could be 4/5 weeks so maybe we will need another loose head as well as all the rest

Personally beg steal borrow from Beckett or whoever for the cup games bed in new ones give young Davey a crack at 10 donít risk anyone and do a 6 week pre season with rest of returnees,

Cup means nothing would rather forfeit the thing and go again with a fit and a squad to pick from

You have to play them at some point before the league games again or they will go in colder than after preseason.
The optimism of the news this week was put to bed this eve. These guys are trying but the team collective performance is awful and there is no hiding from it.

agree they need to play but 1-15 needs to be playing in correct position,

Well that was a bit rubbish.

Most of what I wanted to say has already been said above. Lucock and Mitchell couldn't have done any more and I feel sorry that they were part of such a lacklustre performance.

Scottish were just sharper and more dynamic in every aspect of the game. I couldn't fault the effort from our players, but their confidence is absolutely shot and it shows - big time. The shambolic lineout, juggling/dropping the ball and checking any go forward with passes behind the man were all symptoms of the problem. I honestly don't know where we go from here other than a wholesale clear out and start again.

I wondered what happened to Currie. Was looking forward to seeing him after his YouTube video. When you're down, nothing seems to go your way.

Have to disagree with Opus about the Bear Brass Band. I thought they and my halftime sandwich/soup were the best things about the evening.

I have had my rant on the other thread about this match. One thing that did come to mind was that last season most of the tries we scored were from rolling mauls, which has not really worked this season. My feeling, especially as the scrummaging has been inadequate, is that the pack is a bit lightweight. The lack of attacking options was evident last season and has carried on into this season, so is that a coaching issue or a player issue? Last yseason we struggled wit( players out of position, in particular at fly half, which most would recognise as one of the most important positions, and here we are again. Injuries are almost inevitable, why do we not have adequate cover? I noticed that one of the exiles replacements was pictured in a Bath shirt, thought we were supposed to have some sort of arrangement with them, or is it that we just let them have our decent players?

In fairness to the students most seeemd to want to watch the match, but having seen it I suspect most wont return as quite a few near me seeemd to leave having seen enough. Maybe the club should consider free pints for season ticket holders!

Can somebody explain to me why we are recruiting half way through the season rather than in the off season? Is it simply that pre-season we thought we could muddle through with the squad we have but we now realise we are in big relegation problems so they have been panicked into action? Or has the club been totally remiss in how they have planned for the season?

We can only do it now as funding has only been available now.

Have to agree with Opus that the catalyst to this bad run is largely injury driven. The bones of the team are having treatment and too many players are playing out of position. What is in effect a 6 game break for the team could not come at a better time.
As Scuffer says why have funds only now been made available, probably we will never know but at least money is now there.
Onwards and upwards.

I wondered that too Grybz. How are we hear AGAIN with Forsyth at 10. Yes we got Cope but he wasn't going to play every game. They don't play Davey in the league so what was the back up option? Seems there was a lot of hoping imo. As said previously a lack of a quality 10 has killed this club over the years.

If that team turns out against Coventry it will get beat. We're in a massive f**king hole. The cup 6 weeks will be the most important weeks for a very long time. Cos at the moment everything has fallen flat.

I think they are unfit - I know they had a load of work to do chasing Scottish but they were puffing at 30 mins.

Currie getting injured at warm up - you really couldn't make it up. Sums us up at the moment and what with Thraves going off early...

There were a few out there coming back with little or no game time.
The whole situation is just so disappointing. There is just nothing they can fall back on because not one area of the game is going right, not one.
Once your in a rut it is difficult to get out, nothing goes right now matter how hard you try and the opposition smell blood. Ask Rotherham.

Having been to the match, I have resisted posting because other posters have summarised the game, expressed feelings of frustration much more eloquently than I could, and anyway swear words get blurred out by SportsNetwork.
I was originally going to the Coventry match, but walking back from the ground I thought it not worth the effort, or certainly not worth risking the same sick feeling.

But now, having calmed down and realising that we might have a couple of jet-lagged kiwis boosting the squad, I am open to persuasion.

How about I meet you at the ground Headingleytyke and we share a pint together and hope for the best?

Jade or Davey at 10 v Coventry. Pete 12 Forsyth 13 Watkins and elder wings Brown 15.

Win and it's a massive boost to all.

Still keeping the faith.

I am back from Turkey and live on 20 miles away from Coventry. Wasn't originally going to go but changed my mind and I will be there
