Spoke to Laura on Tues. If anyone doesn't know, she has a job in Birmingham, working for British Athletics. I said I would like to say something about her on the board if she didn't mind. She said she didn't mind as long as it didn't make her cry. I said I have made lots of women cry, they cried with laughter whenever I suggested having a long term relationship.
I have known Laura since she started in the ticket office, probably spoke to her before that, when she was a fan on the terrace. She has now gone full circle, she was at the Wuss game and will be at Cov. on Sat. I have now learned something of the circumstances of her redundancy. She put her heart and soul into the job, was the Cockers of the admin side, working all hours and took any complaints about the club personally. The club gave her a decent package and the fact that her job has been divided up between, at least, 3 people, says it all. I don't know if the club assisted her in finding another job or not but I suspect that she had a stonking reference and will be an outstanding success in her new job.
