He may no longer be able to guarantee that French clubs triumph over their English counterparts in European competition but our resident French Irish nemesis still continues to make mischief elsewhere.

Is this really helpful, Alain?

Don't forget that he also cost Wales the World Cup in 2013 (Sm100)

Very good point, Mark! However I think the Warburton one was more to ingratiate himself with World Rugby as the tip tackle had just become the trendy new topic and Rolland was desperate to referee the final.

That's extremely impressive as there wasn't a world cup held in 2013 (Sm100)

So the TMO was technically wrong, but given the knock on gave the correct decision

Agreed. Right decision arrived at by the wrong means, but still correct

Anyway, i agree with Eddie Jones on this. The decision is like a batsman being wrongly given out. It happens. The games over. Move on.

Added to the fact it would have left the score at either 12-10 or 12-8, so the net result would have been to marginally affect England's points difference only.

"Moving on" doesn't seem to come very easily to Mr Gatland.

Given that you called a thread "Rolland still fervently anti-English" and he hasn't refereed a game involving anyone since he retired in 2014 then I'm assuming that post is ironic?

TMO actually made 4 different mistakes

1. Knock-on - didn't bother reviewing
2. touchdown - Welsh player was first
3. As its open play the welsh player just needs to touch it - he was saying not under control
4. Restart option of a Welsh scrum was what he was saying (Garces went for the penalty)

Well either ironic on my part or indicative of the fact that Mr Rolland also hasn't moved on, Rupes!

We all have our little bugbears in this world. I'm afraid Alain Pierre Colm Rolland was (is) one of mine.
