Andy,

That's so good, she'll be press-ganging you to join the scribes!

No problem at all DG. It amazes me how much detail you, Innings et al can recall in reports of games (even non-televised ones!). I tend to watch as a fan and think I'm usually reasonable at recalling patterns but very poor at detail/names. A case in point is our second try which deserves more than the brief mention above (as does Sale's first).

It (may have) started with a break through the middle by (Morris, though possibly that was a different one), several carries and quick recycles by the forwards on the front foot, with good Sale scrambling defence, a quick pass to Malins with Sale's backs stretched, they were up very (too - it's not just us) quickly and Malins (possibly Morris or Bosch!) cross-kicked behind the defence, in truth a little too shallow, Crossdale read it well and sprinted onto the ball, a kind bounce/his good judgement enabled him to nearly score in the corner, excellent Sale cover caught him, but he cleverly popped the ball inside to the supporting Gallagher who flopped over. Good applause from Sale fans.

I don't wish to harp on too much re Malins, though I did omit that again he missed touch by kicking a penalty dead near the end. He has great potential but in my view still lacks the control needed at this level. Might he benefit from a full season at Bedford? Or Leeds! He is a talented, brave and committed player, perhaps still a little light physically for the Premiership.

Bosch was very vociferous throughout, organising the backs. Clark quieter but leading from the front. When he came on after (55?) minutes Whitely was the only other player to show much leadership potential. I think the game gave great exposure and experience to a large number of players for both sides.

Good to see our fringe and future players at my closest Premiership ground. Not so good was a pathetic 1 mile closure of the M62 that took 90 minutes due to a diversion through traffic lights allowing 5 vehicles through every 60 seconds!

TT - I did offer to collect you and/or (preferably the latter) your favourite French Nurse en route! (I'm going to Sale @ AP in 2 weeks (but not Sale A in Jan) if you'd like a lift).
