Excellent write up..... Im off to Twickenham for the final at the end of the month and hoping it is Wasps v Saracens, with Saracens going on to complete the double.

I am off to HQ for the final and am convinced, if the Chiefs can overcome Sarries, and its a big if following on from their display against the excellent Clermont, they will beat Wasps or Leicester in the final.
The ref for Saturday's game at Sandy Park will have to be strong to stop Sarries ball slowing, maul pulling down and blocking and shirt grabbing, plus putting the more vociferous Saracen's players in their place like Nigel Owens did last week.
Just read its Wayne Barnes which should be good for the Chiefs and the other game has Carley! Poor sods.

Couldn't stomach Exeter or Coventry winning the PL so will be supporting Sarries.

Two cracking semis, with two attack minded sides going through to the Final.
The standard this year shows what we have to aspire to for next season.

Great write up PG Tips and two outstanding games of rugby. Absolutely riveting viewing.
Just one thing, why play the premiership semi's the week after The European Champions Cup Final.
I'm thrilled for Exeter, but this certainly had an impact on Sarries performance

Probably because, WB, in a 'normal' league situation the season would have been over, Wasps would be champions and, if the Pro12 followed suit, The Lions would now be on a plane to NZ to give themselves time and a chance to win the series!
But that's not the way it is and, in that case ...... C'MON EXE!
Cheers!

This season will be the 15th decided by playoffs after 15 not decided by playoffs. It's fair to say that playoffs are normal; and lots of other sports use them.
The argument being that is it fair that some clubs lose a lot of players to internationals, so your squad gets you to the playoffs and your best 23 available get you the trophy.
As for the scheduling, I suppose they have to play all the big games at the end of the season. Saracens managed it last year but this year was too much.

I think the losing of internationals acts as a nice break on teams going out and buying teams full of internationals. In any case, it's always felt like an excuse to justify a money making idea.
I think they are here to stay, and will do until someone finds a more profitable way to end the season, but I don't think that means you can't disagree with them in terms of motivation or as a means of deciding the best team over the season.

The players all looked pretty motivated in the semis and finals. Over the last 10 years it was only the year that we got there that one of the top 2 didn't win it. My view is that it is both fair due to the internationals and enjoyable for those clubs involved - and gives some meaning to the last few weeks of the season as well for a lot of teams towards the top. I'm a definite fan.

I think it compresses the excitement of the end of the season rather than increases it. The last quarter of the season it was only a question of whether it's us or tiggers qualified and there no one really thought either would be champions. Outside Leicester and bath I doubt many were that interested.

Two more games at the end of an already overcrowded season increases the attrition rate unnecessarily.
Nothing to do with fairness over the 6N, just a chance to make money.

Well if you didn't have them even fewer teams would have been interested. The last quarter of the season is always more exciting anyway.

Was it? It was mildly interesting to me as a bath fan but even there I didn't really have much hope for us. Everyone else, I don't see it.
Had it been a straight shoot it for the top 3 would have been toe to toe right to the end. As it was, the top 3 was decided months ago and we just had to fill the time.
