LI supporter here...
Was always interested to read JP's "Relegation Road-map" which he started in circa 2004, and was uasually published each season by early November...(Sm141)

He usually predicted that you guys would get fewer points than you ended up with, so in that respect he would be a kindred spirit on the Craic site...

But seriously, surely it's time to expand to 14, bring up Brizzle and the Pirates, and then ring-fence and give the new straucture 3 seasons to bed down...?

No thanks our existence as a club for the past 20 years wouldve been pointless with a ringfenced prem.

Relegation roadmap is under construction and should be available after round 6

I never understand the comments that ringfencing would have meant we would never have made it into the premiership. The idea of ringfencing is a temporary thing. There are so few clubs in any sort of position to even contemplate a step up into the premiership that they could do with a chance to settle in.

The problem with keeping the few in the championship is that it risks them going bust due to the dreadful funding in the second tier. Get them into the premiership and allow them time to get a competitive squad together. You simply cannot do that in one season, thus the usual yo-yo effect.

We moved up due to a significant investment from Cecil, but the transition is very hard for several reasons, not least the old school clubs who don't like the new boys. I'd like to see clubs with ambition given the chance to fulfil it. Exeter were a complete one off and shouldn't be used as the excuse to keep the status quo.

It's also fair to say that the financial situation in rugby has changed beyond all recognition since we or indeed Exeter were promoted. With the current injury/squad reduction/financial issues at all clubs, I think ringfencing is inevitable at some point.
