Afternoon all,

From discussing with fellow CB supporters, I'm sure most of you will agree with me that we need to add quality and depth to the below positions.

Second Row

Personally, I think we need two locks brought in. Given our limit of five NWQ players (Simon Thomas on Twitter suggested that the time-server function was now redundant), I've listed players below who I feel would be decent and realistic additions.

Of course, all of these are in-contract so they would require help from the WRU via a NDC or some cash-splashed (not the most likely of scenarios, I agree).

Tight-head: Tom Francis (Exeter), Greg Bateman (Tigers)
8 - Sam Moore (Sale)
Wing - Ryan Edwards (Bristol)

Aside from this, there are two players that are rumoured to have signed for us in the form of Centre/FB Carl Meyer and our old academy Hooker Liam Belcher (both from the Dragons).

These two lads add decent depth to our squad, with Meyer having real potential.

Happy to hear all of your thoughts, I struggled on the lock-front!

The new rules around NWQ and Wales squad contributions seem detrimental to development, If a team are not contributing enough to the national squad then a couple of quality overseas signings might be what they need to push on.

Hopefully Mulvihill has been aware of this from day one and has been tracking down little-known Welsh qualified players.

After the latest out of test debacle ending up with Charteris, Francis and Adams being dropped from the summer tour the latter two may be looking to sign for a Welsh club.

There must be a bit of money floating around with the new TV deal and if we are as restricted as it appears in our recruitment, I think we should splash the cash on buying Francis out of his contract.

Hearing that Ashton Hewitt and an Aussie prop have signed for us. It's from a decent source but I'll believe it when I see it.

The Aussie prop is a decent name.

Talks are in-hand around Charteris, too. However, that may fall through as he is 1/3 into a three year contract with Bath.

Charteris, Francis and Adams would all be good signing for us, and play in the write positions. Hopefully they will all want to be back in Wales before the world cup.

Think Hewitt signed a new contract at the Dragons this year, can't see why he would want to turn his back on it. Certainly wasn't on their list of departures so he is in contract and it would involve buying him out, can't see that happening.

The Hewitt rumour seems an odd one, he's in contract and seems in favour. If he does leave would suggest Jackman might not be very popular with the squad.
Would be a great addition, physical and one of the fastest players in Wales.
WRU were apparently trying to help us get Charteris in but he was decided to finish his contract, which is disappointing but understandable as he has made commitments.
But it seems like a good sign that the WRU are trying to help us fill the holes in our squad. Martyn Phillips seemed to reinforce that when he spoke to WoL.
Apparently Robson Blake is signing from the Dragons, a big and fairly young eight who won't be very expensive seems like a good move.

Why the long wait to announce the recruitment for next season?

Loyd Ashley decent back up but wont be pulling up many trees for us. Not Champions Cup quality.
