Just read a Twitter message on Rugby Rumours that Sam has signed for Harlequins?! It also suggests that Dave Ward may be heading back to the Pirates as part of the transfer deal!!!

Not sure how true it is - but apparently there's an article in last week's Rugby Paper also alluding to this report.

Dave Ward is a fabulous player, how old might he be now?

Wardy is 33yrs old so I reckon he has a couple of seasons left in him. Plays quite a bit at No 7 for Quins so still pretty fit.

TRP page 15 on October 7th :

"Cornish Pirates are fighting to hang on to another member of their Championship
high-flyers with hooker Sam Matavesi wanted by Harlequins..........

Quins are keen for him to join up as cover after Joe Gray left the club for spells
with Northampton Saints and Saracens...........

Blindside understands that the Pirates aren't keen to lose another member of
their squad while they are holding off Ealing Trailfinders at the top of the table.

If Matavesi does go, Pirates want Quins to let them have Dave Ward, 33, as part of
the deal. The clubs are set to have more talks this week."

IF TRUE, this would be a difficult decision for the club with Tom Channon out for
several months after his operation.

C'mon you Pirates !!!!
