An so to the cup

What to make of it? I think in two of the last three seasons we have used it as a springboard to kickstart us after relatively poor starts. I wonder how we will approach it now given we have had a better, if, given the fixture list, a not entirely unexpected, one. I cannot see it being a priority for the coaches, but I am often wrong.
Struggling to get excited about it myself. I was rather fond of the B&I.It gave us new teams to play and some memorable outings. Cheshire and I had a frankly ridiculous boys trip to Clonmel, and I still could not tell you where it actually is. We had great family weekends in Dublin and Ayr, although Newport is best forgotten.
What does everyone think?

It's pretty tedious just playing the same teams as in the league, but it gives the coaches a chance to give game time to several players who haven't figured yet. With the pressure off a little bit we may seem some exciting rugby - and it gives a chance for bit of revenge against Bedford!

You've certainly hit the nail on the head there, 2Harbourview. The B. and I. Cup's away trips gave us weekend mini breaks along with the rugby, and playing teams in other "countries" that we wouldn't normally meet. The Leinster trip several years ago with Perran Pirate and wives comes to mind, with the inevitable night in Dublin's Temple Bar !!! I can't see the new format wetting anyone's appetite to be honest, but I may be wrong. I hope to be there next weekend as always.

I'm sure the coaches and players will want to get back to winning ways. I expect some rotation as we have generally stuck to the same squad for the league matches so a number of players need a break. It will be an opportunity for some squad players to get game time and impress before the next round of league matches.
