Which only goes to prove that Rugby in the UK is a very sick puppy indeed.

The RFU need to fund the championship or lose it. Down the line, logic dictates that they need 2 leagues of equal status, the winners of each play out a super bowl final.

The project needs a massive boost in interest, gates,TV hype, finances and sponsorship. .. or die.

The plight of jersey is one of restricted numbers, due to the population, numbers of businesses available for sponsorship and huge travelling cost. Plus they have already sold the crown jewels, being the ground. However the reality of financial sustainability is once again brought into the limelight , to remind us all how fragile our sport is.

The strange thing being Jersey leased their ground back earlier this year by getting a loan of 1.5 MILLION at a preferential rate, to be paid back over 10 years.

Maybe some clubs need to accept that they are only geared-up to play at a lower level instead of paying wages they can't afford. London Welsh were a tragic example of this.

Wasn't there some other club who sold off their crown jewels and didn't invest wisely with the proceeds?

More than one, I would suggest...
