PROMOTON & LONDON LEAGUES
Date: 19 March, 2018 09:19

Well done to all the coaching staff and players of senior Men's 1st XV for achieving promotion with three games to play. A win next Saturday will see London Welsh promoted as champions.

Looking forward the RFU will decide which London league we play in next year with the options being 3 North West, and 3 South West. Teams in these two leagues are detailed below. The feeling is that London Welsh will probably be in 3 North West next season.

London 3 North West

- Grasshoppers
- Welwyn
- Verulamians
- Stevenage Town
- Kilburn Cosmos
- Old Streetonians
- Finchley
- Cheshunt
- Old Merchant Taylors'
- Datchworth
- St Albans
- Hitchin

London 3 South West

- Old Cranleighans
- Old Emanuel
- Portsmouth
- Trojans
- Teddington
- Battersea Ironsides
- Old Tiffinians
- Warlingham
- Petersfield
- Weybridge Vandals
- New Milton & District
- Basingstoke

We're hopeful that the women's team get promoted this year and our Druids (2nd XV) and Occasionals (3rd) also get promoted in their merit leagues.

with it almost certain that Hitchen and Basingstoke will be relegated from their relevant leagues

I once saw Basingstoke play a Cup game against Harlequins, at The Stoop.

Kilburn Cosmos.

What a great name!

Selfishly hope we get promoted to SW3, as it's easier for me to get to more of the matches, but just really pleased for the team and everyone associated with the club for this great achievement in our first year back as a true community club.

Agreed, but London Welsh Rfc has always been in Middlesex club (see pictures of John Taylor playing for Middelsex in the John Dawes room), other local club Richmond and London Scottish are in Surrey. So it's likely the RFU will put us in the NW3 but it's TBC.

For some, the season has not finished, LWWRFC, the Griffins and Miniís are still playing and all have games this weekend.

This thread is about the 1st XV league next season, there's plenty of threads on the women's team, and all the remaining fixtures are updated by NLD in the header to show the season is not over for some.

What a shocking response! You state your London Welsh Rugby Back Office, but you have no interest in teams that make up the Club, other than the three senior menís teams; but then again you may only be interested in the 1st?

I will also remind you, that this is unofficial London Welsh Rugby forum, for discussing all London Welsh teams and this thread has been used to discuss all four senior teams, you may have wished it, only to be for the 1st?, but you have not made that clear and if you bothered to read all of the posts, you would have notice I was not the first to mention the Womenís team!

How will anyone forget the AGM/BBQ (would this have been better posted on it own thread?) if you have only just told the members of this forum, you looking at holding one, but donít post any details? Poor even by your usual poor standards!

Does he? Maybe he has a volunteer who helps him out?

Thanks for constructive criticism as ever, we'll be sure to mention every team in every thread in the future.

Details of the AGM/BBQ have not been finalised and will be in a thread of its own when confirmed with the relevant people in the club.
