Word on the street up here is that Huw Worthington is coming back home to RGC1404

Yes Development Squad Player

Huw Worthington seems to lack mobility and pace, although a pre-season with Blues would probably see him return a better player. He was run around in the Doncaster match like he was a prop.

I have heard we are losing a few others to Ealing too.

Recruitment will be interesting.

Yes Huw is built like a prop, but is a pretty dynamic ball carrier. He needs the regularity of games like he gets for RGC1404, not sure the rotation system at Blues has helped him. We will welcome him back but the way we are loading points up at the moment he will have to fight for his place

2 more are off there too I believe, both in the backs and have the ability to make an impact.

Surprised they were not all announced after our semi final with them.

Ealing are buying up all other teams talented players. Makes me sick ! Players like Edgson, packman, onajaife & from what I’m hearing burns is off to them too, should be retained by Bedford for our development, not for the development of others. How are teams supposed to compete, when one team dominates in buying up so many of the developing players in the league. All this 1 team up rubbish is destroying the long term value of the championship. It makes the b&i cup so so important for other teams in the league to try to win for development purposes. More needs to be done by the rfu to bridge the pay gap between the premiership & champ, or the champ could be lost as recognised development, challenging league. Rant over !

Looking at who is left, there aren't too many more I can see as staying and many of those are more squad fillers or development players.

It would appear that Ealing having failed in beating Bristol to the top of the Championship are discarding players...... many of them quality players and to replace them with other quality players from the Premiership, Championship etc ....you cannot blame any young player moving to them if the money is right, 150k mentioned for one player on Rolling Maul.........

Am I correct that Ealing declined promotion to the Premiership this year.....will they do so next year......how will the Premiership take to Ealing if it succeeded next year.....lack of supporters, ground etc......

Ealing are like a the rugby version of a celestial ‘Black Hole’...........they are fine until the money stops.........there that’s my rant........!

Have to admit I wouldn't be too surprised if Burns left end of this season. He hasn't started so many times as last year and if another team is offering more money and has greater immediate ambition, it's hard for a player to say no even when they are a regular starter.

We've tended to have a good record even in our less impressive seasons for having talented scrum-halves so hopeful we'll find a good replacement if needs be - hear Exeter have a surfeit of good, young scrum halves, maybe we'll sign one of them with the Hooley connection.

Getting impression that what with possible ring-fencing/Irish being considered weaker than other recently relegated Premiership sides, next season will be make or break for Ealing!

Burns is a big loss in the attacking sense in open play. He wasn't necessarily the best (but did improve) passer, kicker or spotting the gap by rucks.

However with Dickson at the club who would be able to (like Walshe did) develop any young scrum half, I think we will have a queue wanting that kind of guidance.

Latest News. Ealing have changed their name to 'Ealing Blues'.
Are they trying to do a Bristol and sign are best players ahead of the B&I semi a little like Bristol did with Fenton-Wells.
The fact that they have signed 4 very good first teamers from this years side speaks volumes.
I think Burns and edgson would have still not been first choice next year, but the loss of Onojaife will be the biggest I feel (similiar to when Flanagan departed).
