'Wants to keep top flight Rugby in the North east'.That under used Darlington Stadium could be seeing some games if/when the government ground is sold!

I doubt it, cant see demand being high enough in Darlington. Tbh only 40 minutes on the train, I could cope.

Come on Parky, get it sorted lad.

But I won't be watching down at Darlington so don't get any funny ideas about that.

I agree. They need to get a move on otherwise we risk drifting along, but I suppose the current financial situation does not help. We need some more money and some new energy/ideas.

What can be the difficulty other than Thumper wanting too much money?

Buying companies takes less than 3 months including detailed due diligence.

Still don't see why it should take that long.

Someone may know the facts but with the exception of the Leicesters of this world, most rugby clubs seem to me to lose money or breakeven only. Therefore, no one is going to rush in.

The potential buyers will be sniffing a bargain, haggling Thompson for a deal.Relocation to Darlo with Parkies connections to Mowden Park is a distinct possibility.

I suspect raising the finance might be a little tricky in the current environment.

Which bank in their right mind would loan 4.5m to buy a business with no assets to secure the borrowings against?

Oh hang on, a certain bank now owned by Mr Darling have been known.......

My understanding is that there would be no relocation - although there would be increased focus on the marketing side... whatever that means!

I was talking to someone from KP last week and apparently the deal was to be signed on 8/10/08. The reason it wasn't was because Parkinson wants Thumper out of the club completely but Thumper still wants to keep a position at the club, this forced a few more discussions. i can think of a job or two for him....boot boy? team coach driver?
