If this is to be believed that would leave us with Hughes, Shields, Thompson, Reider, Willis and Young as our main back row players... So I guess that means goodbye to Hask, and possibly Jones? Remembering that AJ and Gaskell are also able to fill in as Flankers and Jacks younger brother Tom may be breaking through soon.

It would certainly make for an exciting back row!

You need the back row to break themselves week after week. More depth there is a very good thing.

That is some statement of intent by Wasps. Financial worries? Not on this showing!!!!!

Would be awesome if true but let's wait and see if club announce at any point.

Would be a great signing if true. Hard to see how Hask fits in with his current form, especially with the experienced leadership Shields and AJ would bring!

So, Sloppy was right:

Looks like the 6 shirt maybe? Of course, what we do not know, and won't for maybe 2 months or more, is which of our back rowers will be with us next year? Ash we know has signed, and I think YY will still be in contract. Rieder has just signed. But will Ash be seen more as a hooker as his age increases? Probably. Who do we 'know' hasn't signed? Haskell we know is out of contract this year. Nothing said about him. There have been hints that he is holding out for more than Dai wants to afford/pay.

Will we try to sign Nizaam? All the indications are that he would like to stay.

In any rate, Brad is EPQ and a very good player. I am never sure about beards though (at least ones that big). LOL

That's still a baby beard (at least the photo in the telegraph).

Already too long for my taste though.

Interesting to watch him play in the lineouts for Hurricanes, where they often have him second man in the lineout to receive the short ball. At 6' 4" he is quite tall (about an inch shorter than Nathan Hughes).

The ABs have formally stated that Brad did not turn down the offer to play for them, but that they withdrew his place in the team (probably after they had seen confirmation he was signing for Wasps). Semantics. Anyway, NZ have a load whole bunch of players to choose from in that position, many arguably better.

When does the next super rugby season end?

The season finishes on Friday 13 July 2018 for the 'Canes. Then there are the final playoffs, which end in the first week of August. This year (2017), they lost to the Lions in the semi at the end of July, so that was their last game in 2017.

Big article in DT today. Joining Wasps next summer. On basis of strong promise from HQ he will take Robshaws place for world Cup. Great for Wasps not so great for likes of Underhill, Simmomds and other your Eng back row hopefuls
