Has anyone been to the Ricoh recently and notice if the new screens are being fitted ?

Given the amount of steel needed to be added, if they haven't, I cannot see it happening this year, given how soon the round ball folks will be back in there.

A new screen in the North West corner, and a replacement in the South East corner, would shut most of the stadium for weeks.

On a different subject the training ground upgrade has gone very quiet too.

IF the Old Leamingtonians members voted to accept the offer, the next phase would be to apply for planning permission, and maybe acquire land. I haven't seen anything to suggest the OL members turned the offer down, so maybe it is in that next phase?

The site has potential, but the entrance is poor (bad visibility and not easy for a coach to get in and out), the car park is quite small (remember, the Shield games would be played here and I think they would get much larger crowds here for these games).

It will need an 'all weather' pitch installing, and maybe a kicking barn too.

Most of the pitches are a bit short/small, I think (more suited to junior games).

The clubhouse will need to be MUCH bigger.

That's a lot of money, and time. Much of it will need planning permission.

I think this is currently in the Planning process and would naturally go quiet. Somebody in the vicinity might know more.

New big screen location will be at the back of block 31/32. Any further round and the view from the West/corporate seats starts to be awkward and restricted.

I have seen nothing as yet in the local planning notices.

So...will there be any changes to the stadium this coming season?

Talking to someone who's company specialises in big screens for Rugby and Soccer stadiums, he hasn't heard anything since they first looked at options for the Ricoh about 18 months ago.

Currently they are putting together new software updates because of the change from Aviva to Gallagher (amongst other things)

You wanna see the new screens they are huge was there a couple of weeks ago....great sound system too.

Only problem is that they are in the middle of the pitch and seemed to be fixed on the Rollings Stones music channel all night.
