Brown said during the PAD that he was going to have an op to sort out his wrist.

And Neil Back didn't get picked for England for years due to his lack of size...

I'd like to know under what criteria Louis Deacon is selected.
Well done to our lads, although I'd rather see Strettle getting fit and ready for next season.

Deacon was already in the EPS - he was drafted in for Tom Palmer when the latter got injured wound the time of the 6Ns.

As I understand it, this isn't an EPS under the same boneheaded rules that run during the season.

The fact remains that he had played almost no rugby this season and there are more deserving candidates than him.

Unfortunately/fortunately with the selection as it is, I believe the current EPS remains until July. Then MJ can pick another 32 players. It is likely that a lot of the EPS will not make it into the next one - I'm thinking Deacon, Haskell, Payne, Noon...

Congrats to all our boys who have made either squad.
Felt very annoyed that Skins and Browny had been overlooked, but relieved that this was due to injury/op's etc.
Do feel for Tom W who has had a very good season.
Same goes for Percy.
Good luck one and all!

QQQ, you're right but that wasn't really what I meant. My post was misleading - I sort of left a bit out. smiling smiley

What I should have said was, there's a bit more to it than form. Rather than just give people a go who appear to be 'on form' they'll be looking at player's performances in detail in an attempt to assess whether they really have the ability to step or whether they are just very good club players. And also they probably (you'd hope) have an idea of how they want their national team to play and therefore have to assess which players fit that structure and how the players' styles of play fit together.

Maybe Steffon Armitage was asked to play a different role from that which he's used to but whatever the reason he looked off the pace and consequently out of the game, to me. I'm glad he's getting another chance because he must have been gutted and he is apparently really 'on form'. smiling smiley

Yay for all our boys involved in both squads. Ditto feel for Brownie n Skins although Will did tell me he needs surgery on his ankle so guess he getting that sorted, Brownie I believe his hand is still bothersome.
But to rest congrats and deserved so I now will watch England take or Argentina oh n BaBas, oh talking Quins I assume GOnzo made the Arrgie squad?
