Fixtures clarification please ...

As I understand it, the new Premiership Rugby Cup consists of 4 rounds followed by a semi final and final (i.e 6 weekends in total similar to Anglo Welsh). I can't quite work out therefore why there appears to be a free weekend in Oct/Nov once the 2 European games are taken into account as there are 5 weekends free at presemt with the same applyi g in Jan/Feb. When the semi final and final would usually take place in March there is only one weekend free (presumably for the final) !!
Any ideas thanks or am I just being dopey ?

Some assumptions:

Euro 1 13 Oct
Euro 2 20 Oct
Euro 3 8 Dec
Euro 4 15 Dec
Euro 5 12 Jan
Euro 6 19 Jan
Euro Qf 29 Mar
Euro Sf 20 Apr
Euro F. 11 May

New Comp 1. 27 Oct
New Comp 2. 03 Nov
New Comp 3. 26 Jan
New Comp 4. 02 Feb
New Comp Sf 09 Feb
New Comp F. 16 Mar

Leaving 10 Nov as a free weekend ?

Just thinking out loud !!!

Our site (Sarries) has a fixture list with "spare" weekends named (Champions Cup/Prem Cup). It has 7 weeks showing for the Prem Cup (in a season that is a week longer). There seems to be (at least one) new Quarter Final round. The site is not renown for being reliable but shows 27 Oct, 3,10 Nov as PC rounds then 26 Jan, 2,9 Feb, 16 Mar as QF, QF, SF, F. The two QF weeks are puzzling! 3 ideas:

(1) the 4 QF games are split over two weeks,
(2) a mistake - 26 Jan should be Pool Round 4, (the "derby" round?) with QF all on 2 Feb,
(3) an unlikely and complicated method of ensuring all clubs have at least 2 PC home games with a "Qualifying QF" - see our thread if interested!

Should become clearer on Friday at noon when fixtures are released.

Grief, thanks for trying Saraísman, but I donít think Iím much clearer after reading that!

As you say, probably best to wait see how the next announcements fill in the pieces.
