Cardiff Blues Squad - 2019/20 Season

By Craig Muncey

We are hoping for some further additions but as it stands here is the senior squad as I understand it for next season. Where I have put certain players for positions I have placed the respective position under their primary position but many can adequately play in a host of other positions. An example of this is Matthew Morgan. "Nipper is seen as I understand it, predominantly seen as playing at fly-half but as we have seen for the last two previous seasons, certainly can play at fullback as well. I will add to or delete as the pre-season/season goes on (hopefully)!.

We’re about 3 players away from having a good squad. But the lack of a back up 10, Loosehead prop and a gnarly second row will make us also rans. Our front 5 are really going to struggle next season

A big nasty @#$%& in the second row is definitely the priority. I'm torn at fly-half, I feel like we should get someone in with more experience than Nipper and Fishy as if Jarrod gets crocked then we're under some serious worries, it could always be that Mulvers sees Ben Thomas as good enough to get involved quite quickly going forward leaving Nipper and Fishy to only be used when extremes are needed

Another lock did indeed come on board today on a short term contract. Anthony Cox a 19-year old to cover for Cardiff A games.

Gethin Jenkins should get the Defence coach job, he did a cracking job for the RFC last season.

Made a great start so I am sure if that continues will get more and more involved at regional level or we will be in fear of losing him elsewhere.
