loan player Callum MacBurnie feels short-changed in Blaydon-

The 22-year-old, who made his debut off the bench at Macclesfield ten days ago, played the whole game at Crow Trees as Cov broke a string of poor performances with a determined effort in a 17-17 tie.

However, MacBurnie feels the visitors should have been better rewarded for the way in which they finished the match, with a two-man advantage and camped near the Blaydon line.

The North East side had back row Ben Morris sin-binned ten minutes from time and Cov captain Matt Tibbatts barrelled over for the tying score.

“We should have won but it was annoying because we didn’t capitalise on our opportunities,” the Moseley loan player said.

“I don’t like criticising officials but they had two men off and arguably should have had a third and we should have had a penalty late on.

“They were just giving away penalty after penalty and nothing was coming of it. Then when we got into the centre of the pitch where a penalty would have won it for us their scrum-half took the ball out of our No. 8’s feet but nothing came.

“It was very frustrating because we were camped up their end for a long, long time.”
