Former Coventry Rugby prop back to boost Coventry.

Coventry Rugby has further been boosted by the news that former Coventry prop forward Rob Dugard has returned to the club.  Reluctantly having to leave Coventry, following their relegation 3 seasons ago, Rob moved on to Birmingham Solihull whilst they were still in the Championship. Last season he moved to another Championship club Plymouth Albion.

Virtually an ever present for Plymouth Albion last season with 15 starts and 13 substitute appearances, Rob helped them top their relegation pool, which saw Esher relegated.

Rob aged 26, joined Coventry after a spell at Bath RFC, and spent 3 years at the club, Coventry in effect resurrected his rugby career, and he welcomes the chance to give something back to Coventry for their initial faith shown in him. Still living locally Rob brings still more Championship  experience to the Coventry  squad.

Looking at Rob's record for last season on Statbunker it looks as if he had a solid season at Plymouth Albion.

11 starts in regular championship matches
9 appeareances as substitute in Championship matches
2 matches as an unused substitute in Championship matches
(22 of 22 matches selected)

4 starts in Championshiop playoffs
1 appearance as substiture in Championship playoffs
1 match as an unused substitutre in Championship playoffs
(6 of 6 matches selected)

1 sin-bin in Championshipm (4 mins from end vs Lon Welsh - total 4 players binned in the match)
1 try in Championship playoffs

Good to see Bomber back at the club. This is exactly what we needed, a bit of experience in the pack to combine with the younger talent we have. He can play on both sides of the front row so a bit of versatility too.

Bomber, Tofty and a halfback on his way back from the same era from what i've heard, PM going with what he knows, fair play, lets hope they turn it on!
