Trio sign on again for Coventry Rugby.

Coventry Rugby’s recruitment takes further shape with the news that a further three players have been retained from last season, Matt Price-hooker, Gareth Turner- back row , and Jack Green- centre. Making it 18  signed, made up so far with  4 new players and 14 retained players. With Coventry Rugby returning to training this week further news on new signings will shortly be announced.

Matt Price – hooker starts his third season at Coventry having joined from Rugby Lions after a spell at Bedford. An experienced player Matt played 25 games for Coventry, including replacements in his first season. Last season he played 17 games despite a serious neck injury which curtailed his later game time, but Matt is now back to full training and is expected to be fit for the new season. Matt is also head of the Community Department at Coventry Rugby, as well as responsible for organising  the Rugby Camps as part of the Community Initiative that takes place at the BPA throughout the school holidays. Matt is happy again to be part of the Coventry team that is looking exciting.

Gareth Turner– back row also joined from Rugby Lions last season but again serious injury initially curtailed his season . Back to fitness by the end of the season Gareth made two appearances, as well as appearing for the Nighthawks side. A  speedy  back rower around the field, Gareth is looking forward to a season without the injuries that blighted his first season.

Jack Green– centre another player starting his third season with Coventry Rugby, also joining after a spell with Rugby Lions, and also appeared for Warwickshire. In his first season he made 14 starts scoring 2 tries, whilst last season he had 20 games including replacement scoring 13 points.

Towards the end  of the season Jack was drafted in as fly half, having to take over the kicking duties, as well as earlier appearing at fullback and his usual position of centre.

yes mark newbys press releases start this thursday then tues/thurs until end of july which should cover the squad.
but there are players are on trial and others still away, so still a fluid situation.
