FORWARDS coach Dave Addleton hailed an 80-minute team performance from Coventry after their 37-5 win over Cambridge at the Butts Park Arena.
Cov – who lost their opening two National League One games – racked up five tries in an emphatic victory over a side they had not beaten in two previous seasons.
“We took those two defeats really hard, both players and coaching staff, and nothing more than a win would do for us today,” said Addleton.
“At Cinderford we thought the game was won at 31-14 but we took our foot off and let them creep back in, so all the talk this time was about an 80-minute performance and that’s what we got.
“There’s always pressure and it’s difficult when things don’t go well but you have got to take it on the chin and make sure you respond in the right way.
“We only have two nights a week together and when you concentrate on your defence as we did this week, it can usually mean that something else goes wrong. But the defence went well and the rest of our game was solid.”
