On Saturday 29th May, Sky+HD filmed a stunning full force rugby tackle by Leicester Tigers and England flanker, Lewis Moody, in detailed high definition from the unique viewpoint of the opponent. The footage can be viewed from Friday 21 May on Sky Anytime - the video below will give a taster of the full clip 

In this bid to bring rugby fans closer to the action than ever before, Lewis was filmed making a full speed tackle from multiple angles by four high definition cameras.  

To give a true opponent’s view, a small toughened HD camera, designed to capture extreme sports, was safely and securely attached to a specially made tackle bag for the shoot. Unfortunately the camera could not withstand the freight-train-like force with which Lewis hit it. After one take, ‘S.O.S’ flashed up on the screen and the footage was lost forever. With the camera quickly replaced and extra protection applied, the shot was successfully completed and fans can now experience what it’s like to be tackled by Lewis Moody.
