Automatic promotion to the Premiership will be introduced in 2018 after the Rugby Football Union decided to scrap the Championship play-offs. The winners of England's second-tier competition will be promoted if they satisfy 'minimum standard criteria' to play in the top-flight.  RFU  to scrap the Championship play offs

England take on Scotland this weekend at Twickenham in the oldest rugby competiton in the World.   They play for the Calcutta Cup that was made from 270 melted down Indian rupees.  England Team to face Scotland in the Calcutta Cup 2017

Well this is it, the decider of the Triple Crown + Back to Back 6 Nations Grand Slam, England if they can do, it will go down in the history books!  Ireland on the other hand will no doubt be trying to conjure up some ‘Leprechaun Wizardry’ to prevent this happening. England Team to face Ireland

Despite the one loss in Dublin, English rugby is in a much better place than I would have hoped for 18 months or two years ago. Still a way short of being the number 1 team in the world but developing nicely and with strength in depth now in most positions.
