England head off to ROME the 'Eternal City' for the start of their 2018 Six Nations campaign.

Stadio Olimpico -Rome

Sunday, 4 February KO: 15:00, Stadio Olimpico - ITV

Referee: Mathieu Raynal (France)

England will be looking to start well this weekend in Rome.  Hopefully puting plenty of points on the board because you will remember we now have a BP(Bonus Point League), so everygame point counts now!   England's last five scores against Italy are...

15-36 Home(2017) this was the year of the ruck-less - ruck which sent England in a spin., I wonder what Connor has up his sleeve this time?

 9-40 Away (2016),

17-47 Home(2015),

11-52 Away (2014)

and 11-18 Home(2013).

Looking at these stats., you can't really say Italy have improved much.

For those travelling to Rome this weekend, we have some super tourist top TIPs from our man in Rome-CAM Paolo Borgognoneo

Tips for visiting Rome

I would like to see England running with the ball from the outset and not so much of the endless kicking game we tend to see nowadays.  Yes of course it plays a part in the game but it also gives the ball to the opposition to run at you.  Keep the ball in hand, off load well and run with it........... that was how the game was invented, was it not?

Head coach Eddie Jones said: “I have selected the strongest available side to play Italy this weekend and the players are excited to play in Rome. Our preparation over the last two weeks has been excellent and the players feel refreshed. We want to start the tournament well and are ready to go hunting against Italy.  We know we need to get our set piece right, be defensively strong and play with aggression and plenty of energy.”
