Hello from sunny Gloucester.
If any of you Chiefs are traveling to Gloucester on Sunday and don't fancy the drive back there is a brand new 4* hotel just opened a couple of hundred yards from Kingsholm in the city centre.
Sunday is a cheap(ish) night.
Hotel Indigo part of the ihg.com group
And if you don't like the bar or breakfast prices there's a spoons 30 yards away
Cheers

Wouldn't it be nice to see a reverse of last years horror score happen?
Glaws do seem in some disarray, hopefully we can push them a bit further in to that !

Im excited about Ridl at 15. He strikes me as a classical attacking 15. That also puts out a hugely potent back 3. Len back at 12 is also great news. Hoping Glaws are a little off the motivation Glaws 15 Ex 32.

Team selection unfortunately shows the lack of quality and squad depth in the pack, with no back up second row forwards, just hybrid back rowers. Our line out will be under massive pressure and can’t see how we will stop their catch and drive.
Yes our back line looks good but will they get any ball to work with. Best wishes to Ridl at full back a very big test for him on the dreadful plastic pitch. With the exception of Hooper our bench looks v weak in terms of experience and how Hammersley gets in ahead of Rigg, WHW or Wimbush I can’t really fathom. Heaven for some reason doesn’t get a look in.
I hope I’m wrong but see this as a comfortable home win, with their pack having total dominance. Strange Backu gets player of the day for making the difference in the front row last week, where Jimmy had a day to forget and he doesn’t feature at all.
Glaws 42 Chiefs 27.

I'm guessing Rob's giving as many of his 1st choice forwards a week off after the quick turnaround last week (and some tough games). Personally, I don't see the point of having Rigg on the bench - he's essentially a one-position player whereas Hammersley, for all his faults, can cover quite a few positions. Maybe he's also considered a bit more dispensable than WHW who many seem to think would be the logical 'Swiss army knife' to have on the bench.

I don't think this is going to be as easy as some of these predictions suggest. I certainly hope I'm wrong. My main concern is also the lineout, since returning from South Africa Dweba's arrows have been inconsistent (at best) and with no out and out lineout specialists I think this could be our biggest weakness. However, if our forwards can get some good solid possession then we've certainly got a back line that could do some serious damage.

Some rotation was inevitable but I agree with Andy and others that the fall off in the pack and especially at the line out is significant.
Glos are so unpredictable. They have a lot of quality, but rarely seem to be able to pull it all together. If they do, it could be a surprise. We badly need this win but I dont think its a given at all. Having said that, if they fall apart as they can easily do, our back three could run them ragged.
Which is a long winded way of saying that I haven't got a clue.

Whilst I totally agree around the drop of in quality from our starting second row to the one picked, and the weakness of our bench, a lot of you have forgotten a key fact! This year Gloucester have been pants!! Last week against Bristol they were awful. They probably couldn't play as bad as that again, but we still have by far the better team, their bench is equally as poor. I'm sure there are a few players that have some ghosts to rest from last year. I'm going Chiefs 36 Glaws 12 let's hope my optimism is not misplaced.

It's a front 5 that was good enough to draw away at saints. Tuima is a england A International with nearly 100 first team appearances and Pearson well over 50. Its not like we have picked a players up from South West one.

An interesting point. Also interesting, to my mind at least, is that the momentum in the game turned, and we did most of our scoring after Daf came on at halftime, followed by Zambo on 43 minutes.
