Glaws name two captains for the new season

After the dullest summer for years, things are beginning to liven up and Gloucester and their fans are getting a few things to talk about to wake them from their collective close-season coma. New coach Bryan Redpath has taken the unusual, but highly commendable, step of naming two captains, the Bath home game has been switched for the telly, and Kingsholm looks like hosting World Cup rugby again.

Last season's captain Mike Tindall will share the duties in the new campaign with Gareth Delve, meaning there is a ready-made stand-in when Tinds is on England duty and also spreading the load betwene the pack and the backs when both players are in the side.
Redpath told the Citizen: "I'm lucky in that we have a number of leaders throughout the side.
"The nature of the modern game means that, if you name one man as your captain, there is a possibility that you will be denied his services because of injury or international call ups.
"But Gareth and Mike both led the side with distinction last season. They are fine players and command a lot of respect. I'm comfortable naming them as joint captains and, having spoken to them both, know that they view it as an honour."
Meanwhile, the Bath game will now be played on Sunday September 6, with a 3.30 kick-off, showing live in Sky.
The GP game v London Wasps will also be on Sky on Satirday October 24, as will the Heineken Cup games against Newport Gwent Dragons on Friday October 9 (8pm) and Biarritz on Saturday October 17 (2.35).
Sky have also gone for the HC game against Glasgow on Saturday December 20 (12.45).
England have been awarded the 2015 World Cup, and that means Gloucester could host pool games at a Kingsholm stadium which, by then, is expected to have been transformed even more than it has in recent years.
Only six years and two months to wait.
