Frustrating

Johan Akermann says it may take four years for Gloucester to achieve their potential which is a bit of a blow as after the first game against Chiefs we thought we'd cracked it.

We've been brought down to earth by first Quins and then Tigers who have been struggling by their own standards.

The first half at Welford Road put us in our place as the hosts raced to a 21-0 lead, and we were not looking forward to the second  half with any confidence at all.

Fortunately some gutsy play steadied the ship, and a try for Josh Hohneck and a conversion and penalty from Billy Twelvetrees earned us some respectability with Tigers only able to add a penalty of their own.

So 24-10 the final score which means we languish in 10th spot with five points.

That makes this Friday's televised derby at home to Wuss a must win game even  though we are only just into the season. Our visitors are in bottom spot without any points  so far, and a win for them would be disastrous for the Kingsholm faithful.

Ed Slater had a good game for you, we miss him already, though our two young(er) 'uns did ok, except for the lineout shambles.
