The excuses coming out of Sandy Park major on the fact that the Chiefs' players are all Brexiteers - or at least they can't perform in Europe. Watching from the comfort of the armchair and with the benefit of all those replays I would suggest that Glaws won the game because we were better at the line-out and stronmger in the pack than they were - in otherr words we were better at their game then they were.
This was the best performance of the season, so far, and we were well worth the 27-19 win which leaves us second in Pool Two behind Munster.
Chiefs, of course, visit Kingsholm on Friday night for the return leg and it promises to be an absolute cracker.
Until then we can savour an all round performance which saw Grobler dominate the line-out and Thorley a try-scoring free spirit.
It was a real game changer whenThorley latched onto a poor Matt Kvesic kick to set up the first try of the game thanks to good support from Willi Heinz.
We took our chances in a thoroughly professional display wiuth Cipriani kicking the pens tokeep us in front.
Then Jaco Visagie celebrated his debut scoring from a superb delayed pass from Cipriani followed by Ben Morgan who scored a Chiefs' style third following a catch and drive.
It was all played out in turbulent weather so let's hope we can repeat the job in more favourable conditions on Friday - just to prove the point
