Too many passengers in that side. Backline is expected but disappointing.

Traynor is woeful, what's happened to Bateman, Cilliers, Rizzo? Why not start Mulipola?

You can only assume all other LH options are unfit, and seeing Logo blowing at wasps, I have to agree you'd go with the fitter, lesser, player, rather than one that might go off after 10. This'll be hard but not giving up hope before KO.

Dom barrow on the bench.
Right call if he reaĺy is still recovering from anything.
But... was hoping he was on the pitch. Could be too late by the time he's on.

A losing bonus point would be a great result. We could be blown away in the front 5 if Munster whip up their frenzy, the loss of Ellis along with Bateman and Cilliers in reserve will be significant I think, also the lack of Barrow (or Williams and an option) in the second row to add the physicality. The back row should be competitive but that won't be a great help if we are heavily on the back foot.

I worry how much ball we may have - probably not a lot. Not wishing to sound negative and I expect a full-blooded effort throughout; we need a "greater sum than the parts" performance but it's gonna be tough!

Bateman 10-12 weeks out with neck injury

Front row weak link will kill us.

Penalty agin us at every scrum will destroy any momentum or territory we might gain. A Munster knockon will be almost an advantage to them! Can it be a deliberate knock on if you just decide not to catch a pass?

Needs must is a maybe, but I don't think we take a game lightly and pick someone for the hell of it. Sure the lads will rise to the occasion.

COME ON YOU TIGERRRRrrrrsssss.

Ooof that's bad luck. Though I suppose he's barely missed a match before so some sort of injury was over due.

Rizzo?

On the brightside: Thacker, Mulipola, Barrow and Williams provide good impact from the bench as does Malouf. If we can get on the front foot then Youngs, Ford and Tait should be able to work May and Veainu into some space.

Genuine question. I've only seen maybe 50 or so minutes of Kyle play, he wasn't great but he wasn't as bad as the gnashing and wailing might suggest, who was he paired with then? Did he have Tom and Dan alongside him? , might make a difference.

Against Exeter he played 2 mins and gifted them a point with his poor scrummaging, he played with McGuigan and Cole; against Gloucester he played with McGuigan & Cilliers, against Bath he played with Thacker and Baumann. Baumann got a real going over by Auterac but Traynor struggled in the game too. He didn't really do much in the A game against Wasps and there is also there is the whole rest of his career to go on.

Well I hope we go ok and will take no pleasure if we get thumped.

All I can say that the world MOC now inhabits is getting a bit like Cockers world of many seasons. We will see if we have truly improved.

And to reiterate I hope I'm proved wrong in a massive way and that supper late on Saturday is a huge portion of humble pie.

Thanks SK, must've taken a few mins and is much appreciated. Hardly played in first choice company so far then.

Well I'm prepared to give Kyle a chance, his whole career might point to his being a weak link, but we seem to rate Stanko and he's not been coached by him his whole career.

As for giving away a pen 2 mins after coming on. Given the state of the reffing and the lotto of scrum decisions... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Whatever side we put out, I'd mentally chalked this up as an L when the draw was made, so whatever we get out of it will be a bonus for me.

I had no idea Bateman was out for that long!! So our two best looseheads who are both great in the loose are out for 2 - 3 months!!
Rizzo has returned but is not in the 23! Anyone know why?
He is after all an international prop.

Humble pie is still in freezer.

Hopefully one day I can serve it up soon. Not optimistic though.
