On The Road.... Part Four

It's the last three away games of the season for London Welsh and they'll be making these trips in the hope of a return visit next campaign. First up is Gloucester, then Bath and finally London Irish. We bring you a brief guide to these grounds.

Gloucester

London Welsh visited Kingsholm in November for the LV= Cup and On The Road.... Part Two gives information on getting to the stadium and so on.

Tickets for the match against London Welsh are priced at £37 for the silver blocks (H,J, K, P Q R), £27 for bronze (G & S), £27 for anywhere in the East Stand, £22 to stand in The Shed and £15 to stand on the West Terrace, Discounted tickets are available in some areas for those more senior in years.

Bath

The Rec may be one of the most famous rugby grounds in the Premiership but it's reputation certainly doesn't protect it from criticism over the poor facilities for supporters. The temporary stands that they are forced to use are far from ideal and Bath are working hard to make improvements to bring the ground up to modern standards. That said, there are few finer locations with the club nestled in the heart of this historic city.

Tickets start at £27 for the Thatchers Terrace rising in price for seated areas elsewhere in the ground. Capacity is 12,200 and it is recommended that tickets are  bought in advance. 

Parking within the city is notoriously difficult but a good park and ride service is on operation. The train station is a five minute walk from the ground. Full travel information can be found at http://www.bathrugby.com/tickets/travel-information 

London Irish 

The Madejski Stadium in Reading has been the matchday home of the London Irish 1st XV since 2000 and will remain so until at least 2026.  This modern stadium has a capacity of just over 24,000 and perhaps the only criticism that can be made is the number of empty seats even for the bigger matches! (Yes, that's obviously pot and kettle).

Family tickets are also available direct from the LI ticket office.


There is limited parking at the stadium (advance booking available via the online ticket system). Alternatives are to 'park and walk', park in the town centre or travel to Reading by train.
