This week we are hosts to Ampthill r.f.c. Since Ampthill were promoted to National Division One for the 2015 - 16 season they have been in a player developement program with Saracens, as are Rosslyn Park who we played last week. In total Ampthill have in thier senior squad some forty players.

Last season, their first in National One, they finished in third place behind Albion with a similar record after the season ended and this time around after the first ten weeks we are very much in the same position, with a almost identical record both in terms of wins, points difference, try bonous points and total points scored and also in terms of losing bonus points scored. Having both played against four of the current top seven teams so far.

Someone on rolling maul said he had us as a draw because we were now the draw specialists, and we will have to be at our best I feel to get the result we want as there is nothing between the two clubs so far, cigarette papers comes to mind.

Should be a cracking game. I am looking forward to an Albion win to get us back on track.

This is Ampthillís third season in league 1. We both entered the league in the same season. We following relegation from the Championship and they winning promotion from league 2 north (having been moved from 2 south to 2 north) they beat Bishop Stortford in the playoff.
