Horan has wrist operation

Tim Horan has undergone surgery on his wrist injured in the 23-3 defeat away to Sale Sharks. The Australian is now certain to miss the rest of the season.

The club cofirmed on Tuesday that twice World Cup winner Horan has had a plate inserted into the wrist in order to stabilise the fracture and that he will be out of action for at least six weeks.

There is some good news, though, from Sarries on the injury front this week. Luke Harbut, Steve Cheesebrough and James Parkes have all returned to training after injury lay-offs.

Harbut, stretchered off against Wasps comes back after just one game away, even though his injury looked serious at the time. He will be in contention for selection against Northampton on Saturday.

Cheesebrough has missed six weeks of action after a knee ligament injury and Parkes suffered an injury to his elbow while playing for the under 21s.

There is still no news on Scott Murray, Richard Hill and Matt Cairns, all of whom were withdrawn from action up at Sale. It is hoped that all three will be fit to make the short trip to Franklin's Gardens at the weekend.
