Visagie banned for one week

Saracens prop Cobus Visagie has been banned for one week by an RFU Disciplinary Committee after being found guilty of stamping on Bath scrum half Nick Walshe in the 12-all draw at the Rec on 13 November.

The South African was sin-binned for the first-half offence by referee Ashley Rowden at the time and it was recommended by the Independent Citing Officer that he attend a disciplinary hearing after viewing a video of the match.

The 29-times capped Springbok's actions insenced Bath coach John Connolly enough for him to leave his seat in the stand and confront Visagie as he sat on the touchline, leading many Sarries fans to fear the worst; particularly as the press were touting a three-month suspension in their match reports.

Visagie, much to the relief of the club and its fans, will now miss only the trip to Gloucester this Saturday and will be back in time for the upcoming Powergen Cup clash at London Wasps on 4 December, and the Heineken Cup double-header against Ulster - the first match away at Ravenhill on Friday 9 December with the return at Vicarage Road on Saturday 17 December.
