The Blues go into their crunch with the London Wasps without seven squad players, the latest casualty, captain Xavier Rush.

His is in fact the only change to a side which beat Glasgow last weekend, with the ever-impressive flanker Mark Lewis taking his place.

 

Rush’s stand-in and crowd favourite Andy Powell has revealed a shoulder injury will keep him out until March, another long term injury in the back row following Robin Sowden-Taylors well documented fracture of his ankle.

 

Powell said today;

 

“I had a scan on Tuesday and the Doctors told me I would require shoulder reconstruction surgery. I took a knock in the second half against Worcester and then a big hit against Bristol and the shoulder didn’t recover. Obviously I’m gutted that it looks like I’ll be out until March but I’m determined to bounce back.”

 

Meanwhile, Duane Goodfeild replaces Gareth Williams on the bench. He is joined by Gary Powell, and newbie Ben White who replace Filise and Lewis from last weeks reserves.

 

They make up the only changes, as Cardiff look to pull off a massive win in the Anglo-Welsh competition.

 

The game kicks off at 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon, believe it or not! It should be a great game of rugby, and I urge all fans, Cardiff, Wales, Wasps or England to make the trip. Lets show them that when games are played at sensible times, the fans will turn up.
