New DoR?

Rumours are spilling out of the Arms Park linking many high profile names to a 'Director of Rugby' post with the Blues. It's unclear who is the main target, but it's believed the new DoR will be a very well known coach.

The Director of Rugby role entails a less squad-based job, working more with finances, contracts, coaches, hiring and firing of players and other loose jobs that emulate a full time job.

If true, the new DoR would work seperatly to Dai, Rob Howley, Richard Webster and the other coaches, but would oversea coaching and would also be in control of who coahes the players.

One name that has been linked for a long time is former Itlay coach John Kirwin. Kiriwn recently missed out on the Leicester job and it's thought he's been in contact with Cardiff throughout incase talks broke down with the English giants.

The new director would take over the post come the end of the season, but any signing would be announced as and when it happens.

This news will please many fans who have called for Young to have an experienced mentor to help with the running of the Blues. It also means Young retains his position with Cardiff but some of the pressure will be taken off his shoulders.
