England came out storming at Twickenham today.  What a match end to end stuff, exciting, tactical, hard and edgy.

England 33 v 19 Wales

Rugby World Cup Warm Up Match

Quilter International No: 1

England came out of the traps, like hounds dazzling the Welsh in their light.    4 Mins in and England throw body after body into the maul before Billy Vunipola collects and manages to squeeze between the posts with ball in hand.   Hundreds of players on the floor (I know an exaggeration) , but then Billy gets it down.  What a cracking start.

England's Billy Vunipola scores the first try of the International match at Twickenham Stadium - All Pictures PAimags

My goodness this match just has everything!!!  Not a very good start for Wales, indeed they don't look like the side that finished the Six Nations so well.  Tom Curry all over the place, Watson looking fantastic, Jonathan Joseph  everyone to a man  playing their part in this match.

Joe Cokanasiga  scores England's second try and powers through the Welsh line!  Great pressure from England and superb support.   Captain George Ford adds the extras.  England 14 v 7 Wales

This was a fantastic test match.  Wales scored their first try with a solo score from Gareth Davies!  England 14 v 7 Wales

Nesxt up Try from  Luke Cowan-Dickie, conversion George Ford (39 mins)  England 21 v 7 Wales

England's Luke Cowan-Dickie celebrates scoring his side's third try

43mins  England 24 v 7 Wales.     Then 50mins in and Wales come back with a George North try but no conversion points, 24 v 12.

Wales have woken up and Wyn Jones goes over! Now 24 v 19.  The gap now only five points, Wales give England a chance to extend their lead again with a penalty from 30 metres out.  George Ford has 100% record so far today, adds to it with another three points .  Score 27 v 19.  Again an other Penalty for England and George Ford. 30 v 19.

Just when you think this game can't have anymore drama we get a  Drop goal from Elliot Daly fantastic.  He picks up a bouncing, loose ball and dropping it between the posts on the swivel. Utterly Brilliant.

Excellent England victory!
Perhaps Wales paid for their emphasis on physical conditioning at this stage of their RWC preparation though that may reward them at the RWC?
Eddie announces his RWC squad tomorrow.
Big match next weekend

Great performance from a mixed selection v Wales’ settled first choice. We shouldn’t get carried away but there was much to feel encouraged by. The only negative for me is that Daly really is not a 15. I would like to see Anthony Watson have a couple of the remaining warm-up matches there. Also, hopefully Tom Curry’s injury isn’t anything serious. The guy is outright world class already and we need him!
