FORMER Coventry youngster Jethro Rawling has been dual-registered with National One rivals Jersey.
The 20-year-old flanker, part of the Leicester academy since 2008, made three appearances for Phil Maynard’s men, including one off the bench when Cov played at St Peter in December.
But he suffered an injury early in the last of those, the defeat at home to Sedgley Park, and has not played for Phil Maynard’s side since.
Having regained fitness, league leaders Jersey made a move for the openside who will now be available for the final five games of Jersey’s campaign, starting with the home game against Cambridge on March 24.
“I’m delighted to have a player of Jethro’s talent available for selection at the business end of the season,” said Jersey director of rugby Ben Harvey. “It’s been an arduous campaign, with a large number of injuries, and this signing is a significant boost to our squad.”
Ironically, one of those matches is the final one of the season at Butts Park which could mean Rawling will face former team-mates as the race for promotion nears its conclusion.
