Adam Parkins eager for Birmingham and Solihull Bees clash.

The powerful prop, who has started all but two of Cov’s matches this season, will be returning to Damson Park looking to prove himself to the home supporters and players.

Northampton Saint Parkins freely admits the Bees fans didn’t see the best of him during his short dual registration spell at the start of last season when they were in the Championship.

And he’ll also be motivated by the prospect of playing against a few familiar faces with Bees also benefitting from the presence of some of Franklin’s Gardens’ bright young prospects.

“I want to go there and show them my best,” the 22-year-old said.

“It didn’t work out when I was there, I had a bit of a dip in form at the start of last season and although I played against Worcester and Nottingham it wasn’t to be.

“In the end I was happy to get an opportunity with Coventry.

“I’m looking forward to this weekend because they’ve got a couple of Saints lads in their side and they have the academy forwards coach Mark Hopley playing for them.

“If I do well it’ll certainly get back to Northampton.

“There’s been a lot of banter in training this week between the Cov and the Bees lads so it’ll be fun to take it on to the pitch, there’ll be nothing vicious but if you see one of the boys you’ll definitely have a word or two with them.”

Parkins is expected to form an All-Saints prop partnership with Ethan Waller while Hopley and Sam Farmer should be in the hosts’ line-up.

Meanwhile Cov will be holding a supporters evening where fans can hear new chairman Jon Sharp outline his plans for the Blue and Whites.

There will also be a Q&A session at the event which takes place from 7pm on Tuesday, April 17.
