Warrington Wolves sign Michael Monaghan for 2008

Warrington Wolves have signed Michael Monaghan from NRL leaders Manly Sea Eagles on a four year contract. Monaghan who has made over 100 top grade appearances in the NRL is expected to partner Wolves captain Lee Briers at the half back roles. Many pundits tip Monaghan to wear the number 7 shirt for the blues in the state of origin down uner this year.

Warrington Wolves have signed half back Michael Monaghan from NRL side Manly Sea Eagles on a four year deal. Wolves beat of stiff competition from Hull FC and several top NRL clubs to the signature of Monaghan who is expected to partner Lee Briers in the half back positions in 2008.

Former NSW coach Phil Gould has tipped Michael Monaghan to wear the number 7 shirt for the blues in this years state of origin after being in outstanding form as the Manly half back which has seen the Sea Eagles rise to top of the NRL table.

Monaghan has made 109 NRL career appearances to date scoring 21 tries, 2 goals and 7 drop goals.

Michael will join New Zealand international Louis Anderson brother of Wolves star Vinnie at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in 2008 in what is looking likely to be the Wolves strongest squad in many years.
