Engage Super League XII - Round 17
Warrington Wolves v
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats
Sunday 17th June 2007, 15:00
The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington
In 2007 Warrington Wolves have failed to live upto the expectations from the media and the fans. Only 2 home wins have been recorded so far this season at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, and defeat on Sunday would leave the Wolves in serious Relegation troubles.
Warrington go into the game on the back of the 25-14 away defeat to St. Helens in the Challenge Cup Quater Finals, a game in which the Wolves showed plenty of spirit and one point looked likey to beat the Holders and progress through to the semi-Finals.
Wakefield in 2007 are a different team to that which battled to aviod the drop last season by beating Castleford Tigers on the final day of the season. Wildcats coach John Kear as added skill and determination in to his players and that has so far shown as the Wildcats currently sit in 7th position leve on points with 6th placed Huddersfield after winning 7 and drawing 1 of the opening 16 matches.
Warrington Wolves will be without Stuart Reardon, Vinne Anderson and Martin Gleeson for the visit of the Wildcats, but coach Paul Cullen is expected to name youngster Kevin Penny and Chris Riley in the team following impressive displays in the Wolves recent matches against Leeds and St. Helens in which Penny has crossed for 3 tries.
Victory for Warrington will no doubt boost the confidence of the players and will lift the club back up the Super League table and remove some of the pressure of coach Paul Cullens shoulders.

Prediction -
Following the improved display at St. Helens, the Wolves should just be able to do enough to get the 2 points against the Wildcats. Kevin Penny who has impressed in the recent games away to Leeds and St. Helens will be full of confidence after scoring 3 tries in 2 matches and will be looking to add more on Sunday.
