Warrington Wolves v Salford City Reds

The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington

Warrington Wolves host local rivals Salford City Reds in a must win game for both teams. Warrington will be looking to build on the impressive victory at Huddersfield last weekend which seen the Wolves close the gap on the top 6, whilst Salford need a victory to claw there way off the bottom of the table and aviod the drop down to National League One for 2008.

So far in 2007, Warrington have beaten the City Reds three times which includes the 50-18 victory at the Millenium Magic weekend which was staged at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. Also the Wolves edged out the City Reds 32-34 on Good Friday at the Willows to add to the 12-24 victory on the same ground in a pre-season fixture in January.

Warrington have added Vinne Anderson and Martin Gleeson to the team that defeated the Huddersfield Giants last weekend and both are expected to feature at some point during the Salford game.

Victory for Warrington will close the gap further on the top 6 and if results go the way of the Wolves then 7th place could be on the cards if they can repeat the performance shown at the Galpharm Stadium last Sunday.

Prediction -

Adrian Morley had one of his best games in the Warrington colours in the victory at Huddersfield last Sunday and many hope he can build on that and guide the Wolves to another victory this Sunday. Confidence seems to have come back to the Wolves at the right time in the season and only time will tell if the Wolves can climb into the top 6.
