Round 20; Albion v Cinderford
By Dark Prophet
February 11 2022
Albion will be looking to build on their success of last weekend, but in front of them will be Cinderford who currently lie 4th in the league.
Cinderford enjoyed a spectacular start to the season with a streak of 8 wins on the trot, including a 36-12 victory over Albion in the reverse fixture.
Since then their fortunes have taken a turn for the worse with just 3 home wins from the last 10, and two of those were against Birmingham Moseley and Tonbridge Juddians.
Albion meanwhile continue to be inconsistent but will be targeting the game not only to build on last week, but also to earn more desperately needed point to take them away from the bottom of the table.
It seems that Cinderford have relied heavily on their forwards in recent games with over 2/3rds of their tries coming through that route, but tend to leave themselves vulnerable to opponents' back line, particularly down the wing.
last 10 - more than 2/3ds of tries scored by forwards with half of those by 2nd row - catch & drive main weapon remeainder even
vulnerable on the wings, but other gaps may appear in the defence.
Albion will need to be wary of Cinderford as the tend to start each half slowly, turning it up before the whistle. In this respect, complacency could be Albion's undoing.
Weather: Rain will arrive from the South West, just in time for kickoff. There will be a breeze with strong gusts.
In summary, Albion will need to keep to the game plan throughout and keep the ball out of the hands of the Cinderford pack. The weather will not be beneficial to Albion.
Forecast - a close game with Albion coming out on top - perhaps no bonus point this time.
