Round 22: Albion v Blackheath
By Dark Prophet
February 25 2022
Another low end of the table clash as Albion welcome Blackheath to Brickfields.
Blackheath lie 11th in the league with 39 points, 4 ahead of Albion by virtue of bonus points as they, like Albion have only won six games this season, although they have played 2 additional games.
Albion will certainly be looking for a win against a side they beat on the road 36-30. Similarly, Blackheath will be looking for redemption following the defeat they suffered against Tonbridge Juddians last week.
Both teams have very similar scoring records, with Albion just coming out on top in try scoring 52 to 48.
The Majority of Blackheath's tries come from the backs, in particular the Fly Half and the Wingers or more specifically Jake Lloyd. They also seem to be stronger in the second half, both offensively and defensively. Albion will need to score heavily in the first half and put the game beyond Blackheath.
As ever, keeping the penalties down, and thereby reducing the number of lineouts (not an Albion strength) would be beneficial. It is possible that Albion will have the upper hand in the pack so there may be benefits in keeping the game tight, but Blackheath can present opportunites on the wing.
Weather - Sunshine but with the wind picking up again it might feel a little chilly.
Forecast - A win for Albion with a bonus point.
