Part 3 - 2003 - 2006

Part 3 brings us to the end of the County Ground days with wins over the relegated Premiership side in 04/05 and 05/06 but also saw major losses to Bristol and Quins on their turf. Yappy was top scorer in all three seasons.

Compiling this has brought back many memories for me (even now we're not so many years back!) and I hope it does for you. Here's the next three years, 2003 - 2006 and as usual just click on the player links to see more details on Statbunker which is the source for most of my information.

Season 03/04 - Sixth place, Worcester won the league undefeated with 125 points. Best home win 85-6 against Manchester and worst home loss 26-40 v Orrell. Best away win and worst away loss. Top points scorer for Chiefs was Tony Yapp with 320 including 9 tries, most tries Hayden Thomas with 11.

Season 04/05 - Second place 4 points behind Bristol with Albion 3rd on 94 and Pirates 4th on 85. Best Home win 40-3 v Coventry with only one home loss 18-19 to Albion. Best away win 17-39 at Bees and worst away loss the infamous 68-15 defeat at the Mem v Bristol. Top points scorer was Tony Yapp with 285 and most tries by Richie Baxter with 13.

Season 05/06 - 6th place on 71 points with Harlequins winning the league on 121 points, their only defeat 13-8 to the Chiefs at the County Ground. Best home win 45-5 v Coventry, worst home defeat 16-43 to the Pirates. Best away win 16-23 at Pirates and worst away loss 70-5 to Quins at the Stoop. Most points Tony Yapp with 158 and most tries Gary Kingdom and Stephen Ward on 8.
