Robinson stars as Delve decides to quit Glaws

One Welshman is on the way out, but another from the Principality did the business for Gloucester as they beat a rejuvenated Leeds at Kingsholm, Nicky Robinson doing all the scoring as they racked up 19 unanswered points. But Gareth Delve’s days at Glaws are coming to an end after he decided to accept an offer to play in Australia.
The decision brings a long overdue end to weeks of speculation after it was revealed that Delve was considering offers from Glaws, home town club Cardiff Blues and Melbourne Rebels.
Now, at last, he’s decided to try his luck down under and even Glaws fans who got fed-up of the “will-he won’t-he” delays will wish him well in his new career.
He said: "The opportunity to test myself alongside the best players in world rugby, in a competition I have grown up admiring, was one I couldn't refuse.
"Having made this decision, my entire focus will remain on helping Gloucester to achieve the success that it so richly deserves.
"It's a privilege to captain such a great club and such a fantastic group of guys and I will continue to be totally committed to the club for the remainder of the season." 
Meanwhile, Robinson (right) scored the game’s only try and kicked a conversion and four penalties to steer Glaws to a routine win over Leeds as they recovered from the early loss of Mike Tindall through injury. Delve also went off injured early in the second half.
In a winning start to a busy week, the Cherry and Whites stuttered for a while, but gradually recovered to earn the win.
Coach Bryan Redpath told the BBC: "It was a decent win and four points against a side which has not lost in five games.
"They have been pretty dogged and we knew that would be the case, so we had to work to win the game.
"Nicky kicked fairly well today and his try was good vision to take the chance. He worked well too."
Redpath will be looking to Glaws to step up another gear when they make their longest Premiership journey of the season to play their rearranged game at Newcastle Falcons on Wednesday.
The squad is flying to and from the North East to take the pain out of the long return journey, because they’ll need to be at their best when third top Saracens come calling at Kingsholm on Easter Saturday.If you do not already have an account Click here to Register.
