Season ends with 100 points conceded at Rochdale..
Rochdale Hornets hammered West Wales Raiders 102-4 to bring the 2022 season to a close for the Welsh club. The season ends with the club losing 19 out of 20 matches scoring a total of 140 points and conceding 1,196. As has been detailed before the only victory came away at Cornwall. For RL followers in the south and west Wales small crumbs of comfort are precious and hopefully 2023 will produce some more highs, fewer lows and hopefully no more three figure scores against the team. All credit to the players who pull on the jersy in what is a very tough sport.

Last home game is a loss to Midlands Hurricanes
The 2022 "home" season ended with a defeat at the hands of Midlands Hurricanes who recorded their 5th victory of the season. The defeat means that West Wales Raiders have suffered a loss in all their home games in 2022, with the away win at Cornwall being the season's highlight so far. There is one game left - away to promotion seeking Rochdale Hornets, so it will be a tough finale for the club.

It's another tough season
The highlight of the 2022 season so far was the excellent victory away at Cornwall, but the reverse fixture saw the men from the far South West come up to Stebonheath and win by a similar margin. Elsewhere it has been a string of defeats, some very heavy indeed and the last derby was another thrashing administered by North Wales Crusaders. The heat will continue as there are some tough games coming up for the Raiders. Oldham are the visitors next weekend and then it is a trip to Doncaster. A match against London Skolars may be a real chance to shine - at home on 6th August.

Keighley Cougars visit on 7th May
West Wales Raiders entertain Keighley Cougars on 7th May and will be looking to improve upon a poor start to the season in terms of results and fixtures. The season started with a heavy cup defeat and 4 more defeats, one of which saw 100 points conceded, and a cancelled match have followed. Supporters of Rugby League in South and West Wales desperately want the club to succeed but results remain disappointing. Positive messages come out of the club but improved results wpould give all concerned a huge boost

Cup result sends strong message.
Swinton Lions inflicted a huge defeat on an outclassed West Wales Raiders team in the Challenge Cup, scoring 96 unanswered points. The result prompted a strong statement from the Club owners which was released on social media and as a press statement. Swinton are a club in the same division as the Raiders and whilst they have been relegated and are a well established club, the result was emphatic. The West Wales Raiders next match is ironically against the Lions in their opening Leage game; there is much work to do ahead of this fixture on 27th March.

New Kit New Season New Opponents
The club have released their new kit (home and away) for 2022 and the home version has received mixed reviews; some like it others don't and it is definitely a "marmite" one! The new season is only a matter of weeks away and the fixtures for the league campaign and the opening round of the Challenge Cup are now well known to everyone. Players are being signed, pre season planning is in full flow and fans are eager to see South & West Wales representative club in action. New club Cornish Rebels will see the Raiders heading "south" for a change too!
