Crusaders Colts History

The Colts

The 'Crusaders Colts' were established in time for the 2008 season as a feeder team for the Celtic Crusaders. They were in existence for only a single season as the Crusaders instead now put forward a side for the Super League Reserve Division. The Colts would lose only three games on their way to winning the Conference National.

The thinking behind the Colts was to give more young Welsh players a chance to play regular Rugby League at a competitive level.

The Colts, who wore black & gold striped jerseys, ended up going from strength-to-strength and would claim the Rugby League Conference National crown.

The team was a joint venture between Cru and the Welsh Rugby League with many of the players joining the Colts from Welsh Conference Premier sides.

Cru's promotion to the Super League meant that the club now field a team in Super League's 'Reserve Division'; so the Colts name was disbanded after a single season.
